Cloud gaming on Steam Deck
The Steam Deck is a surprisingly capable cloud gaming device. The screen and built-in controls are great, and you can stream titles too heavy for native Deck performance — like Cyberpunk's path-tracing mode.
Service-by-service on Steam Deck
- GeForce Now4.6
Officially supported via the GeForce Now Linux client (or Chrome). RTX 4080-class streaming on a handheld is a wild experience.
Browser-based. Setup involves a couple of extra steps but works once configured. Forza Horizon 5 on a Deck via cloud is great.
Not available — no Linux client.
- Boosteroid4.0
Browser-based. Works in Firefox and Chrome under SteamOS.
- Amazon Luna3.7
Browser-based. Supported but the Fire TV experience is more polished — Deck is a fallback.
Battery life is the limiting factor. A 4-hour cloud session is roughly half the battery you'd get from a similarly-paced native Deck game.
